Combat sports are stressful. Fighters sometime train year round in order to prepare for their next match up, with victory and defeat being the difference between enough money to continue their dream career. With that in mind, there is never an excuse for striking a referee.
In the video above, pugilist Vido Loncar can be seen striking the referee inside the squared circle multiple times. The referee dropped to the canvas from the blows, seemingly injured.
Cornermen and officials alike quickly began rushing the ring and pulling Loncar off of the referee, bringing an end to the shocking incident. Loncar has since been banned from The Croatian Boxing Federation for the attack.
