UFC bantamweight John Dodson has offered his thoughts on what a match up against UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic would be like. For Dodson, it would perhaps need to be a tag team with UFC’s Donald Cerrone.
Stipe Miocic put on a dominant performance at UFC 220, earning a unanimous decision victory over Francis Ngannou. The UFC heavyweight champion broke the record for most consecutive heavyweight title defenses with his third consecutive victory in the event.
Now Miocic is set to defend his title in a super fight for the ages. UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier is moving up in weight to challenge Miocic for his title at UFC 226.
The live pay-per-view event will take place July 7, for International Fight Week, inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. That being said, John Dodson believes he could take out the UFC heavyweight champion with a little help.
Speaking to MMA Fighting in a recent interview, as seen in the video below, Dodson was asked which fighter he would accept in a tag team match against Miocic. Dodson retorted that Donald Cerrone and himself could take out the title holder.
“‘Cowboy,’ me and him would go at and destroy him.” Dodson said.

Dodson most recently declined to fight Pedro Munhoz in the co-main event for UFC Fight Night 125 after Munhoz failed to make weight for the match up. UFC Fight Night 125 takes place Saturday night, Feb. 3.
