Michelle Waterson Books Her Long Awaited Return To The UFC

Coming out of her first two-fight losing streak in history, Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson has booked her return to UFC action.

After coming into the UFC hot, taking out Angela Magana and Paige VanZant respectively, Waterson then dropped fights to Rose Namajunas and Tecia Torres.

The UFC has added a women’s straw weight fight to the UFC on Fox 29 card in April at Gila River Arena in Glendale, azcentral sports has learned.

The seventh-ranked Michelle Waterson (14-6-0) will face No. 12 Cortney Casey (7-5-0) in a bounce-back scrap for each fighter.

Waterson, known to fans as “The Karate Hottie,” is coming off two-straight defeats and “Cast Iron” Casey has lost two of her last three.

Casey, who was born in Tucson, fights out of the MMA Lab in Glendale.

Much of her family lives in Mesa, where she grew up.
