As expected, the UFC is officially targetting another super-fight for their international fight week event, UFC 226.
Set to headline the event is the heavyweight champion vs. champion title clash between Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier.
Now, according to the UFC flyweight champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson, there’s another champion vs. champion super-fight in the works, officially, between himself and UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw.
Taking to his official Twitch stream, the UFC’s pound-for-pound king stated on Friday night, “Co-headlining [UFC] 226, we’re in negotiations! That way when people come in here and ask about Demetrious Johnson and TJ Dillashaw fighting each other, to let you guys know, negotiations have begun. They have begun!”
The Johnson vs. Dillashaw fight represents one of three champion vs. champion bouts currently eyed for 2018.
The UFC is also currently negotiating a deal between camps that will see UFC female bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes move up to face Cris Cyborg for Cyborg’s featherweight world title.
It’s exciting times fight fans!
