Not Everyone Agrees With Dana’s Opinion On Yamasaki… Like This Former UFC Title Challenger

Not everyone agrees with UFC president Dana White’s assessment of last weekend’s UFC Belem co-main event.

The fight was very lopsided, and instead of blaming the athletic commission that approved the bout, or the UFC for booking it, UFC president Dana White blames referee Mario Yamasaki for not stopping the brutal fight relatively quickly.

Several fighters preach to the fact that they want to be allowed to fight. Often we see fights get stopped early, and the reaction from fighters is, ‘Let me go out on my shield’.

Yamasaki did just that in Saturday’s co-main event, but he was wrong by many people’s standards for it.

Now, former UFC title challenger Roxanne Modafferi‏ is giving her take on the subject.

Regarding fight stoppages… as a fighter, I only want my fight to be stopped if I tap or I’m unconscious. I know it’s a dangerous activity that I’m doing. I wouldn’t want a ref or cornerman to “save” me.

Where do you stand?
