In Friday night’s Bellator 194 main event, popular MMA heavyweight Roy “Big Country” Nelson was kicked out of the Bellator heavyweight tournament, thanks to a riveting performance from his former foe in Matt Mitrione.
The bout served as a rematch several years in the making, and in their first meeting it was Nelson that was on the right end of a knockout finish.
In Friday’s main event, the evolution of Mitrione was on full display as he easily walked away with the first two rounds of action.
Nelson would come back in the third, almost finishing his opponent in a mounted crucifix, but unfortunately, almost doesn’t count.
