Mixed martial arts is a grueling experience for novices. It’s demanding, difficult and downright tough. That being said, the experience can be empowering for those with the skills to take advantage of the trade.
For this mixed martial arts match, 68-year-old Ann Perez de Tejada attempted to defy all odds by taking on a 24-year-old Laura Dettman. The two women faced off at Sparta Combat League 48, offering fight fans a rather unique match up.
Of course, Perez de Tejada came prepared. Over her facebook account, the elderly fighter offered some details on her fighting history.
“5 yrs training Muy Thai/MMA; blue belt in jiu jitsu from Karate America, Tim Wolchek; 3rd degree black belt, Kenpo Karate under Mark Baier at America’s Best Martial Arts. Currently training at Grudge Training Center, as well as 303 Training Center, and 10th Planet Boulder…”
