Women’s UFC strawweight Ashlee Evans-Smith recently fired a heated comment at her upcoming opponent. However, the fighter has since taken to social media to share a video that has left some fight fans rather confused.
Ashlee Evans-Smith is set to face off against mixed martial arts warrior Bec Rawlings on the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 223. The live pay-per-view event goes down April 7 inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Having out on a stunning performance in her MMA career, Bec Rawlings has accrued a mass of dedicated fight fans over the year. Consequently, the fighter often takes to social media to keep her fans up to date on her latest ventures.
Unhappy with Rawlings’ social media presence, Ashlee Evans-Smith would go on to criticize her upcoming opponent for “raunchy” messages. In an interview with Fightful, Evans-Smith broke down her opinion.
“Without sounding cocky, I’m shocked that she took the fight against me. She’s coming off of three losses, I’m the bigger, stronger girl”
“I just don’t like the girl that much at all. She’s a really bad depiction and role model for women’s MMA. She’s raunchy to put it lightly. She uses sexuality way too much. I’ve posted a few risque pictures, but she overdoes it. It’s shocking to me, she has children, too. My nickname is ‘rebel girl,’ and I’d love to cuss all the time and post pictures that are a bit risque, but I don’t because there are boys and girls that look up to us. I take that into consideration and I don’t think so at all. I think she’s given MMA a bad name in general. She’s kind of a shit talker, and a lot of the time she can’t back it up, which is embarrassing to me. Sometimes I wanna talk trash, but then I’m like ‘ooh, it’s MMA, anything can happen.’ I’m not gonna talk trash in this fight and get spinning heel kicked and look like an [idiot]”
While Bec Rawlings has not posted any allegedly “raunchy” messages in quite some time, Ashlee Evans-Smith quite recently decided to share a squat video over Instagram.
The video features Evans-Smith performing squats during her workout. However, the video was less focused on the workout and more centered on the fighter’s butt.
The camera quickly panned away from Evans-Smith’s face and directly to the fighter’s butt, as the mixed martial artist was wearing tight yoga pants during the routine. The video has since drawn some attention as seemingly being similar to the style of social media posts the fighter quickly condemned her upcoming opponent for using.
