Expected to make his second bid in the UFC at UFC 225 in Chicago, the team behind CM Punk is confident that the former WWE champion will showed marked improvement since his last fight.
Now, former UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis has chimed in on the subject, stating that he expects a good performance from his teammate CM Punk, and explains how hard he’s been working since his last bout.
Talking to Ariel Helwani, Pettis said, “I see him everyday. That guy’s in the gym everyday. He’s probably one of the hardest workers in the gym. He’s always there, always improving.
“He’s definitely getting better. You put that much time in, you’re going to get better. He’s working the gi, he’s working no gi. He’s training with high level UFC guys inside his weight class. So I think you should see a great performance.”
“He never stopped. He didn’t take a break. He had a couple injuries but he was right back at it.”
“He’s a competitor. He loves the grind… He’s always in the gym. He’s grinding and getting better. He’s putting the mat time in, and there’s no way to get better if you don’t put the mat time in.”
