Hype Justified! Mackenzie Dern Wins Her UFC Debut | UFC Results

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is in Las Vegas, Nev. tonight, March 3, to host the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 222. The exciting night of fights is set to feature a series of entertaining match up, including the octagon debut of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu phenom Mackenzie Dern.

Mackenzie Dern decided to try her hand at the sport of mixed martial arts after taking over the world of BJJ. Following an undefeated streak of 5-0, Dern is making her octagon debut tonight against Ashley Yoder in a women’s strawweight war. Check out the UFC results from the night’s match up down below.

Dern exploded at the instance of the opening round, firing off a flurry of blows on Yoder. Dern pressured the fighter in the fence, dishing out a series of knees on Yoder.

Dern made sure to keep things at a blistering pace, as the BJJ phenom continued to stand and trade with her opponent. The fighters kept things on the feet for the five minute war, with Dern seemingly getting the better of her opponent in the exchanges.

Dern may have earned the first round in the judges’ eyes.

Yoder opened the second round with a vengeance. The fighter struck Dern with a brutal body kick. However, Dern quickly pressured her opponent into the fence.

Yoder tagged Dern with a big left hand, sending Dern to the canvas. However, Dern quickly shot back to her feet. The fighter seemingly recovered from the strike swiftly.

Dern attempted a takedown near the end of the round, but failed to get her opponent to the canvas. This one has made it to the final round.

The final round was a war. Dern worked hard to get her opponent to the canvas. Eventually getting the back of her opponent in the final minute of the fight, Dern struggled to get a finish before the sound of the bell.

However, the fighter was unable to get a stoppage before the fight’s end.
