Former IBF junior lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has been voicing an interest in making a run within the octagon as of late. Now the pugilist has decided to publicly ask the UFC president to give him a call concerning the matter.
Gervonta Davis is a rising boxing star. Retired and undefeated boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. has seemingly taken the pugilist under his wing, as Davis competes under the Mayweather Promotions banner.
While Mayweather has hinted to an interest in pulling himself out of retirement for a run inside the octagon, Davis has been more direct. Speaking to TMZ Sports, Davis offered his thoughts on the UFC.
“I watched some UFC fights and I liked it.” Davis said. “So, I thought maybe I can switch over.”
“If the opportunity is up for grabs, then I am definitely willing to fight anyone of them guys in my weight class.”
When asked what he would tell UFC President Dana White if given the opportunity, the boxer simply asked for the UFC head to give him a call.
“Dana White, I’m waiting on your call, baby.” Davis said. Check out the full interview within the video below:
