Colby Covington Chimes In On Backflipping Off Your Opponent, And One UFC Female Is Not Impressed

UFC welterweight Colby Covington first drew up controversy when he referred to Brazil as a “dump” and Brazilians as “filthy savages” at UFC Sao Paulo back in 2017. Now the fighter has decided to comment on a recent case of poor sportsmanship within the MMA world. One UFC fighter has already fired back.

Mixed martial arts promotion Legacy Fighting Alliance (LFA) hosted LFA 36 in Friday, March 23. While the night featured a series of exciting match ups, heavyweights Drew Chatman and Irvins Ayala ultimately drew much of the night’s attention.

Ayala managed to knock himself out with a hammerfist, bringing a unique end to the match up. With his opponent still face down and unconscious on the canvas, Chatman decided to step on Ayala’s back and do a front flip off of the fighter.

Rather than landing in front of his opponent, Chatman decided to add insult to injury by landing butt first onto Ayala. The incident can be seen within the video above.

Responding to the incident, Colby Covington decided to offer a snarky comment on the matter.

“That’s f**ked up… you gotta stick the landing.”

UFC’s Angela Magana was quick to snap back at the fighter.

“Took em 2 days to think of this?”
