It would appear that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor is training in preparation for a possible match up against tough division contender Khabib Nurmagomedov.
“Notorious” has not competed inside the octagon since earning the lightweight title over Eddie Alvarez back in 2016. Consequently, UFC interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov will be fighting for the undisputed title at UFC 223.
It would appear, however, that “Notorious” is now training with Moldovan wrestlers, wrestlers that likely emulate Nurmagomedov’s famous high pressure grappling and ground and pound style. Nurmagomedov is a combat Sambo phenom that has grown a reputation for his dominant wrestling inside the octagon.
With McGregor now training with Moldovan wrestlers, it seems possible that “Notorious” is preparing for a possible throw down with “The Eagle” in the future. Check it out below:
