Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones swiftly entered the conversation of greatest fighters of all time as he began to rack up dominant finishes inside the octagon. That being said, Jones’ MMA career has also been fraught with controversy.
Jon Jones has failed multiple drug tests, suffered multiple run ins with the law and has had his UFC belt stripped a record setting total of three times. Most recently, Jones failed his drug test for UFC 214.
The California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) elected to strip the fighter of his license to compete and fined him $205,000 for the incident. USADA has yet to render a decision on the matter, but could dish out up to a four year suspension to the former champion.
Speaking in a recent interview, UFC President Dana White revealed that he believes Jones is likely now in “big trouble.”
“Yea, Im mad at Jon Jones. I don’t talk to him at all. [I’m] very [disappointed] in Jon Jones… I think he’s going to be in big trouble.”
“I think he is the greatest of all time. I think if he had done everything the way he should have, he’d be a huge super star. He might even be the heavyweight champion of the world.”
