After getting flagged for the banned substance Clenbuterol, Canelo Alvarez and his promoter at Golden Boy Boxing quickly proclaimed the fighter’s innocence, blaming contaminated Mexican meat as the cause for the drug in his system.
In a prepared statement, Canelo said, “I am an athlete who respects the sport and this surprises me and bothers me because it had never happened to me.
“I will submit to all the tests that require me to clarify this embarrassing situation and I trust that at the end the truth will prevail.”
Now his upcoming opponent Triple G has finally weighed in on the matter, stating that he believes Canelo is a steroid using cheater, and he thought so the first time they fought too.
