UFC competitor turned Bellator MMA heavyweight Cheick Kongo has locked down his next big mixed martial arts performance.
Kongo is now riding a stunning five fight winning streak, having most recently earned a split decision victory over Augusto Sakai. Officials have since announced that Kongo is now set to face off against Javy Ayala for his next performance with the MMA promotion.
The two heavyweight warriors will throw down at Bellator 199. The highly anticipated event will take place May 12 inside the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. Kongo is also an alternate for the Bellator heavyweight tournament grand prix that is set to determine the next heavyweight champion.
Ayala will be looking to rebound from a tough unanimous decision loss to Roy Nelson, as he faces off against Kongo in the upcoming fight night.
