The world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion is in London, England today, March 17, for UFC Fight Night 127. The exciting night of fights is now kicking off the evening’s main card with a welterweight war.
Starting things on the main card inside the O2 Arena, welterweights Leon Edwards and Peter Sobotta are facing off for division dominance. Check out the UFC results from the intense match up down below.
The fight kicked off with a bang. Edwards managed to drop Sobotta with a strong hook, sending the fighter to the canvas. The two mixed martial arts warriors then entered a chess match of a grappling exchange, as Sobotta sank in an armbar attempt on his opponent. However, Edwards was able to avoid the submission.
Neither fighter suffered much significant damage in the second round, as the fight largely took place on the ground. From there, Sobotta managed to seemingly get the better of his opponent for much of the grappling exchanges.
Still, this will be a tough round for the judges to call.
The final round was largely another grappling exchange between the two fighters. This time around, Edwards managed to get a dominant position over his opponent and pummel Sobotta with a series of damaging ground and pound. This was a dominant round for Edwards, beating down his opponent for a TKO victory.
