Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu phenom Mackenzie Dern finally made her lont awaited UFC debut over the weekend. Now photos of the fighter following her recent three round octagon war are taking the internet by storm.
Mackenzie Dern was a BJJ ace long before she decided to try her talents at the sport of mixed martial arts. A former ADCC champion and No. 1 ranked IBJJF black belt, Dern earned a professional record of 5-0 in MMA before making her way under the UFC banner.
Debuting at UFC 222 on Saturday night, March 3, Dern went toe-to-toe with Ashley Yoder for the night’s featured FS1 prelim. The two mixed martial arts warriors ultimately went the distance.
Dern earned a split decision victor over her opponent, keeping her undefeated streak alive. That being said, Dern’s victory came at a cost.
In the photos below, Dern can be seen looking pretty beat up following her octagon debut. Sporting double black eyes and a busted lip just two days after the fight, the fighter surely had her skills tested under the UFC banner.
