MMA Fighter Paralyzed After Altercation With Police

Donovan Duran is a young mixed martial artist. However, the fighter suffered a tragic run-in with local police in Colorado that has left the individual paralyzed.

Reports claim that police officers responded to a call made by the fighter’s family. After being informed that the man was allegedly intoxicated and was a trained mixed martial artist, the La Junta police approached under the cause of a drunk and disorderly violation.

Speaking to media, Duran later gave details of the incident.

“They tackled me to the floor.”

“They put all their pressure on top of me with their knees. They put their knee in my back. I can’t feel anything below my waist, I can’t stand on my own.”

“I finally started feeling weaker and weaker and my neck started hurting.”

“I knew something was wrong and I told them I couldn’t move. They didn’t believe me. The doctor lifted me up and I fell to the floor and my legs went in different directions.”

Duran has since been informed by doctors what he may never walk again, as he has suffered a severe spine injury. Duran was 24-years-old at the time of the incident.
