Fight fans are gathering inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. for tonight’s highly anticipated UFC 222 fight card. Now two heavyweight warriors are stepping inside the octagon for the Las Vegas crowd.
UFC 222 is going down on Saturday night, March 3, live on pay-per-view for fight fans worldwide. Continuing the night of fights, UFC heavyweights Stefan Struve and Andrei Arlovski are facing off for division dominance. The UFC results from the exciting match up can be seen below.
The first round kicked off with an exchange in the center of the octagon. However, Arlovski managed to get his opponent to the ground.
Struve managed to get back to his feet, but still did not seem to have an answer for Arlovski’s clinch. This one was a dominant round for Arlovski.
Arlovski continued his attack of takedowns over Struve in the second round, taking the fighter to the canvas multiple times. Struve struck Arlovski with an accidental eye poke after the fighters were separated from the cage.
Arlovski elected to return to the action, but neither fighter managed to dish out any more significant damage before the sound of the bell.
The final round opened up at a slower pace, as both fighters appeared gassed from their octagon war. Arlovski struck Struve with an accidental eye poke, bringing the fight to a momentary pause.
Struve elected to continue fighting, bringing the night back to the action. The final round stayed on the feet, but neither fighter was able to lock down a finish.
However, Arlovski earned more takedowns in his match up against Struve than in the rest of his career, making for a notable fight for the UFC veteran.
UFC Results: Andrei Arlovski def. Stefan Struve via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
