A heavyweight war between two undefeated phenoms of boxing went down tonight. Now fighters from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) are taking to social media to let their thoughts on the night’s referee be heard.
Undefeated IBF, WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has earned 20 stunning victories in his career, with each win coming by way of knockout. The boxer put it all on the line when he faced off against fellow undefeated pugilist Joseph Parker inside the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales on Saturday night, March 31.
To many fight fans’ surprise, the heavyweight war made it all 12 rounds. Going the distance, Joshua earned a unanimous decision victory over his opponent. However, the fight has since come under some controversy concerning the night’s referee.
Referee Giuseppe Quartarone consistently separated the two heavyweights at the slightest hint of a clinch. Consequently, the 12 round fight largely went without many intense exchanges.
