Brian Ortega put on the performance of his career over the weekend. After shocking the world with a stunning finish over Frankie Edgar, UFC President Dana White has decided to give the undefeated fighter a title shot.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) hosted the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 222 over the weekend. The exciting fight card featured a series of entertaining match ups.
Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar was initially set to face off against UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway for the event. However, Holloway was forced to pull out of the title fight after suffering an injury.
Consequently, undefeated mixed martial arts phenom Brian Ortega stepped up on short notice to face off against “The Answer” in the night’s co-main event. Frankie Edgar had never been finished in his UFC career prior to UFC 222.
However, Brian Ortega managed to knock Edgar out within the first round. The stunning octagon performance has since earned Brian Ortega a shot at the UFC featherweight title.
First, reigning champion Max Holloway took to social media to call out the fighter. Now a video of Brian Ortega answering a call from UFC President Dana White is making its way around the internet.
