Before they were taking the octagon by storm, Nick Diaz, Jake Shields, and Gilbert Melendez were building mixed martial arts promotion Strikeforce into a massive organization. Diaz and Shields each went on to wield championship titles under the promotion, beating down some of the sport’s toughest and most talented fighters in the process.
However, one of the most intense brawls involving the highly acclaimed Skrap Pack members took place after the round ending bell had already rang.
Jake Shields had just successfully defended his title from Dan Henderson in stunning fashion, when heated rival Jason “Mayhem” Miller decided to walk inside the cage and grab the microphone to demand a rematch for the title.
The moment quickly erupted into a brawl as Melendez, Nick Diaz and Nate Diaz jumped to the side of their teammate and began giving Miller a beatdown on national television. The two corners quickly became involved, leading to a massive exchange that has earned its place in MMA history.
