Undefeated UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov put on a dominant display for the undisputed lightweight title over the weekend. Now the fighter is looking to take some time to rest.
“The Eagle” headlined in the main event of UFC 223 on Saturday night, April 7, offering fight fans an intense octagon war. For the fight, Nurmagomedov faced off against Al Iaquinta for the undisputed lightweight title. Nurmagomedov ultimately earned a unanimous decision victory over his opponent for the title.
Speaking to UFC correspondent Megan Olivi after the fight, Nurmagomedov revealed that he does not want to return to the octagon until November.
“I want to rest a little bit.” The new champion stated. “Ramadan, I don’t want to train during Ramadan. Come back, very big show in New York.”
“I want to come back in November.” Nurmagomedov later continued.
