Khabib Nurmagomedov earned the undisputed UFC lightweight title after putting on a dominant display against Al Iaquinta in the main event of UFC 223. Having never lost a round inside the octagon, “The Eagle” is undefeated in his mixed martial arts career.
That being said, another undefeated fighter has come forward to offer his thoughts on facing the Dagestani native.
Ben Askren has semi-retired from the sport of MMA. The welterweight champion of MMA promotion ONE Championship, Askren ended his career undefeated within the sport.
However, the fighter has since been eyeing a super fight against former UFC two-division champion Georges St-Pierre. Now Askren has come forward to reveal that he believes he could bring a stop to Nurmagomedov’s undefeated streak.
“He couldn’t finish Iaquinta or Barboza. Khabib isn’t out wrestling me, out grappling me, overpowering me or out conditioning me. He literally has no way to win.”

While Nurmagomedov has shown dominant wrestling inside the octagon, Askren is a two-time NCAA wrestling champion that has put on a storied run within the sport. Of course, fight fans will never know if Askren’s wrestling prowess is enough to halt “The Eagle” until the two MMA warriors actually meet inside the cage.
