As the UFC hunkers down in New Jersey this week for the promotion’s long awaited return to Atlantic City, Saturday’s fight card continues to get hit at the final hour.
Early this morning the fighters hit the scales to make their bouts official for tomorrow night. During the traditional early morning weigh-ins, two fighters missed weight, and one fighter was removed from the card entirely.
Now, after already losing one fight, the UFC has apparently lose the marquee female matchup of the evening between Leslie Smith and Aspen Ladd.
According to a statement from Aspen Ladd, her scheduled opponent in Smith refused to take the 20% purse concession to keep their bout in tact.
Ladd missed weight today, by 1.8 pounds, and even went as far to offer 20% of her purse plus an additional $5,000.00, which at this point Smith has turned down.
