Former UFC two-division champion Conor McGregor is getting some heat for a fracas in Brooklyn, New York that caused the injury of several fighters. Now former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir has come forward with his thoughts on the matter.
Conor McGregor and a large entourage made their way backstage of the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, April 5. The group then allegedly attacked a bus filled with red corner fighters set to compete at UFC 223.
Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg were among the several injured in the fracas, ultimately being pulled from the respective UFC 223 bouts. Conor McGregor is now facing felony and misdemeanor charges over the incident.
Speaking to FanSided, Frank Mir revealed his thoughts on the Irish native.
“Seeing Conor do that, on a personal level it bugs me. Because I’m like, dammit, the guys like me Randy Couture, Chuck Liddell, Matt Hughes, we fought for years to not be considered a thug.”
“And now you are going to drag us back because you are the most famous guy in our sport. you are the richest guy, the most notable character. And they are going to be like, ‘Look, there they are, that’s him.’ All people do it, you will judge us by our most notable face.”
