It would appear that UFC President Dana White is willing to at least put Nick Newell’s skills to the test, if not sign the fighter outright.
Mixed martial artist Nick Newell has overcome countless obstacles in his life. The one-armed fighter has faced off against some seriously tough and talented opponents in his MMA career. Still, Newell has accrued an impressive professional record of 14-1.
Newell most recently faced off against Sonny Luque at LFA 35. Newell ultimately earned a dominant first round submission victory over the fighter.
Ever since then, Newell has been vocal about his interest in joining the roster of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Now it would appear that UFC President Dana White has plans for the MMA phenom.
ESPN’s Brett Okamoto has taken to Twitter to report that Dana White is looking to land Nick Newell a fight on the popular series Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series in June. The series has become a battleground for fighters looking to land a contract with the UFC, making it a prime opportunity for Nick Newell.
