Dillon Danis Talks On Potential Fight With Ben Askren: ‘an easy submission for me’

Dillon Danis, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu teacher to UFC superstar Conor McGregor, made his big mixed martial arts debut over the weekend. Having called out welterweight phenom Ben Askren after the fight, Danis has now come forward with some critical words on the undefeated former ONE Championship title holder.

Dillon Danis earned a swift first round submission victory at Bellator 198 on Saturday, April 28. Following the big win, Danis called out Ben Askren. Of course, Askren is an MMA veteran.

Semi-retired, Askren vacated his ONE Championship welterweight title after a dominant reign in the position. Now the undefeated fighting phenom has been called out by a 1-0 budding competitor.

Speaking on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Dillon Danis offered his thoughts on the call out.

“I feel like I am the one to beat his undefeated record. It would, I think, be a ground fight and it would be an easy submission for me. He does not like leg attacks. I know his game very well. I feel like he would be scared to go to the ground with me. So, yeah. I believe it would be an easy fight.”

“He responded, so I wonder why he responded. I’m pretty sure he’s not responding to just anybody. He knows that once he responds to me, his name is gonna be all over the place. Probably the most media he’s ever gotten.”
