Boxing phenoms Gennady Golovkin and Canelo Alvarez first faced off inside the squared circle back in 2017. Fighting within the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev., the two pugilists ultimately went the distance.
In the end, the fight was called to a controversial draw. Alvarez and Golovkin were then locked down for a highly anticipated rematch on May 5 inside the same Las Vegas venue. However, the fight has since been called off.
Canelo Alvarez formerly announced his withdrawal from the match after failing a drug test for clenbuterol. The boxer claimed that the banned substance entered his system through contaminated beef, leading to a hilarious mocking of Alvarez in a recent commercial by Golovkin.
