Ultimate Fighter winner John Dodson may have knocked T.J. Dillashaw out to become the tournament champion, but despite that lone accolade he’s no longer signed to the UFC.
John Dodson fought out his contract when he defeated Pedro Munhoz this past March. That fight signaled the end of his UFC deal, and he’s posturing for more money.
As a result, the fighter and the UFC were unable to come to terms as of yet, and contract negotiations have failed.
Ariel Helwani has it:
Free agent John Dodson met with UFC officials recently. They didn’t come to terms on a new deal at the time and he’s now free to shop around. Door isn’t closed on a UFC return at all, but he’s currently exploring options, sources say.
