UFC superstar Conor McGregor decided to make his presence known at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York on Thursday. Following an incident that left multiple fighters unable to compete this Saturday, a judge has issued protective orders in the favor of several fighters against “Notorious.”
With the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 223 set to go down on Saturday, April, 7, the UFC 223 Media Day took place inside the Barclays Center on Thursday. Conor McGregor allegedly used his company The Mac Life’s media credentials to sneak a group of his entourage backstage for the event.
A bus filled with fighters set to compete in the red corner for UFC 223 was then attacked by the group. McGregor can be seen in recently revealed footage allegedly breaking a window of the bus with a loading dolly.
The breaking of the bus window caused serious injury to several member inside the vehicle. Michael Chiesa and Ray Borg were ultimately pulled from their UFC 223 bouts due to damage sustained during the incident.
Co-headliner Rose Namajunas was reportedly close to pulling out of her title fight for the night after suffering an injury to her hand through the traumatic experience. Conor McGregor turned himself in to police custody shortly after.
Having made bail, “Notorious” is now back out in public and free to travel internationally. The fighter is facing three charges of misdemeanor assault and one felony charge of criminal mischief.
During the arraignment, the judge issued a protection order in favor of Michael Chiesa, Ozzy Arias, Ray Borg and Ricardo Chico against Conor McGregor. McGregor’s next court hearing will take place June 14.
