UFC flyweight John Moraga earned a big win over the weekend. However, the victory came at a cost. Moraga endured a brutal gash on his head after being meshed into the octagon cage. Now the fighter has come forward with a few words on the matter.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Glendale, Arizona on Saturday night, April 14. From inside the Gila River Arena, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion hosted the highly anticipated fight card of UFC on FOX 29 for the Glendale crowd.
John Moraga faced off against Wilson Reis on the night’s card, ultimately suffering a unanimous decision victory over the fighter. During the fight, Moraga’s face was smashed into the fence. Grinding against the octagon cage, Moraga’s forehead was opened up into an intense gash.
Speaking in a post-fight media scrum, Moraga said “The cage got me pretty good. It took a chunk out of my forehead.”
“You can’t stitch it,” The fighter added. “It’s a big chunk, a big hole.”
