Following the latest event from mixed martial arts promotion Bellator MMA, another series of former UFC fighters have not fared well under the competing promotion.
Bellator MMA was in Rosemont, Illinois on Saturday, April 28, to host another exciting night of fights. This time around, the promotion hosted the highly anticipated fight card of Bellator 198.
MMA legend Fedor Emelianenko faced off against two-time former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir in the night’s main event. Emelianenko made short work of the former champion, knocking out the UFC veteran within the first round. Of course, Mir was not the only former UFC fighter to lose over the weekend.
Former UFC competitor Sam Sicilia entered a featherweight war with Emmanuel Sanchez on the night’s card as well. Once again, a fight from the night ended in a first round finish.
Sanchez locked in an arm-triangle choke over Sicilia for a submission victory within the first round.
Former UFC fighter Gerald Harris also competed on the night’s card, taking on Rafael Lovato Jr. in a welterweight match up. Yet again, the Allstate Arena crowd witnessed another first round finish.
Lovato Jr. cranked out an armbar in the first round for a sumbission victory over Harris.
