Former women’s UFC bantamweight Leslie Smith is the founder of Project Spearhead. The project is dedicated to unionizing mixed martial arts fighters.
Inspired by unions already in place in other sports, such as the NBA, the intention of unionizing mixed martial arts competitors is to ensure fair compensation and treatment for all fighters. To achieve her goal, Smith has taken to Instagram to reveal that she is now looking to kick off a fundraiser for her cause.
