Undefeated UFC featherweight Brian Ortega shocked the world when he became the first fighter to ever finish former lightweight champion Frankie Edgar. The two mixed martial arts warriors threw down back at UFC 222 and Ortega earned a knockout victory within the first round.
UFC President Dana White would go on to promise Ortega at title shot shortly thereafter. Now reigning UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway was chosen a targeted date for their epic octagon war.
Speaking on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Max Holloway revealed that he would like to fight on the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 226. The event goes down July 7 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. and will be featured live on pay-per-view.
UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be moving up in weight to challenge reigning heavyweight title holder Stipe Miocic for his belt in the night’s main event.
