UFC welterweight Colby Covington has become an arguably polarizing member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Now former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping has come forward with his thoughts on the fighter.
Colby Covington first stirred controversy when he called Brazil a “dump” and the local arena crowd “filthy animals” at UFC Sao Paulo back in 2017. Ever since then, the fighter has slowly been making enemies of many fight fans and fellow competitors alike.
Now “The Count” has come forward to roast Covington for his trash-talking tactics. Speaking on the MMA Roasted podcast, Bisping let his opinion be known.
“Yeah listen, I mean Jesus Christ, there have been things I regret saying all the time, of course I have yeah, I said something I regret today, but he’s a f*cking idiot, let’s be honest.
“I mean come on, look at him, he’s a f*cking embarrassment to himself.
“You see him at that press conference the other day in that f*cking suit on? He looked like a pimp from the 80s.
“He’s terrible, he’s terrible. He just needs to stop trying so hard. Stop trying to be a d*ck. Obviously being a d*ck comes naturally to him, he doesn’t need to be trying so f*cking hard.”
“Where did he go? Where did he go? He hasn’t gone anywhere yet.”
“He’s had a couple of fights and beat Demian Maia in Brazil, then talked a load of s*it and then got a boomerang thrown at him in Brazil by Werdum and he went to the police crying like a little baby.
“He hasn’t got anywhere yet. He’s siting at that press conference trying to talk s*it and he’s just trying to be Conor McGregor.
“Listen, I don’t want to sit here and talk s*it, but you asked me the question.”
