A fracas took place within a parking garage following UFC 223 media day on Thursday allegedly involving UFC superstar Conor McGregor and the fighter’s entourage. Now it has been reported that UFC lightweight Michael Chiesa has pressed charges against “Notorious” concerning the incident.
Following the recent UFC 223 media day, a bus filled with fighters from the red corner of Saturday’s upcoming UFC 223 fight card was attacked by a group of individuals. Conor McGregor can be allegedly seen within a string of videos now making their way around the internet leading the group.
The bus was struck with a series of items, including a dolly that smashed through a window of the vehicle. The dolly was seemingly thrown by Conor McGregor, damaging multiple fighters.
SBG Ireland’s Artem Lobov, teammate to Conor McGregor, has since been pulled from the fight card due to his alleged involvement in the fracas. McGregor is currently in custody of local authorities and is facing three misdemeanor charges of assault and a felony charge of criminal mischief.
Michael Chiesa suffered lacerations to his face from the incident, causing the fighter to be hospitalized. Chiesa was initially set to fight former champion Anthony Pettis at UFC 223. The fighter has since been pulled from the night’s card due to his injuries. Now TMZ Sports has reported that Chiesa has decided to press charges against McGregor for the incident.
UFC President Dana White has already revealed that he believes Conor McGregor will likely face hefty lawsuits concerning the fracas, including a few individuals the president claimed are already in the process of pursuing.
