UFC welterweight Colby Covington has quickly gained a reputation as being one of the more controversial fighters within mixed martial arts. With that in mind, the heavy trash-talking competitor revealed in an older interview that he was the one being bullied during his days in middle school and high school.
Colby Covington first drew the ire of some fellow fighters and fight fans when he called Brazil a “dump” at UFC Sao Paulo back in 2017. Since then, the fighter has begun a trash-talking campaign against and and all UFC competitors in his path.
Speaking to interviewer Racquel Goldman back in 2016, however, Covington revealed his own past with bullying. Check it out below:
“When I got to high school, I got bullied a lot, as a middle schooler and high schooler. So, I knew I wanted to learn skills to be able to defend myself and I realized in high school it was my passion to fight.”
