An image of the brutal damage mixed martial arts veteran Joe Lauzon suffered in his latest octagon war has made its way to the internet. This time, the fighter’s corner was forced to throw in the towel.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) put on another stunning night of fights over the weekend. This time, the world’s most famous mixed martial arts promotion was in Brooklyn, New York on Saturday night, April 7, to host the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 223.
The event went down inside the Barclays Center, offering fight fans a series of exciting match ups. Among them, UFC lightweights Joe Lauzon and Chris Gruetzemacher went toe-to-toe in a bloody octagon battle.
Gruetzemacher put on a dominant performance over the MMA veteran, dishing out some serious damage to Lauzon throughout the fight. Lauzon never backed down.
Rather the fighter tried to give it as well as he was taking it. Still, Gruetzemacher was getting the best of the fighter in the exchanges.
Lauzon’s face quickly swelled and bruised up, cut and bleeding from the intense strikes from his opponent. Between rounds, the fighter’s corner assessed the damage and decided they had seen enough. Gruetzemacher earned a victory over his opponent by way of TKO (corner stoppage).
