UFC lightweight Dustin Poirier put on a fight of the year contender with Justin Gaethje over the weekend. Following the stunning match, Poirier has come forward with an emotional message on his past.
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) was in Glendale, Arizona on Saturday night, April 14, for the highly anticipated fight card of UFC on FOX 29. The exciting series of match ups went down inside the Gila River Arena for the Glendale crowd.
Headlining the night’s event, Dustin Poirier earned a stunning fourth round TKO victory over Justin Gaethje in a bloody octagon battle. Speaking to media in a post-fight scrum, Poirier revealed a story about his wife and himself.
The fighter revealed that he once could not afford a car, so his wife would drive him to weigh-ins and fight event. The couple would then sleep in broken down hotels.
