Chaos has struck the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s latest fight card. Following a fracas involving UFC superstar Conor McGregor and a series of weight cutting issues among fighters, undefeated UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov is in need of an opponent for the main event of UFC 223.
UFC 223 is set to go down this Saturday, April 7, inside the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The main event for the fight card, however, has become quite fluid.
Khabib Nurmagomedov was initially set to fight Tony Ferguson. However, Ferguson has since been pulled from the event due to an injury. UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway stepped up to face Nurmagomedov on just six days notice.
However, Holloway has since been deemed unfit to finish his weight cut. This turn of events has also gone down following an intense altercation that took place in the parking garage after a recent media event.
UFC superstar Conor McGregor is now in police custody after allegedly striking a bus filled with red corner fighters for the UFC 223 card with a dolly, breaking a bus window and injuring multiple fighters. “Notorious” is now facing multiple charges of assault and one count of criminal mischief.
Taking to Twitter, UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has decided to let the world know that he is willing to step up to face Khabib Nurmagomedov in the night’s main event.
“I’m in Brooklyn and on weight. I’ll fight @TeamKhabib!”
