No 1. ranked two-time former UFC welterweight title challenger Stephen Thompson put on another octagon performance over the weekend. Following the fighter’s close loss, Thompson has come forward with some of his thoughts.
Fight fans poured into the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England on Sunday, May 27, for the stunning fight card of UFC Fight Night 130. Headlining the day’s event, Liverpool’s Darren Till put his undefeated streak on the line as he faced off against “Wonderboy” Thompson.
The mixed martial arts phenoms ultimately went the distance, with Till earning a unanimous decision victory over his opponent. Speaking to media after his tough loss, Thompson revealed that he believes there are superior strikers to Till within the top ten of the division.
“Are there better guys?” Thompson said. “Are there better strikers in the top 10? I think so… But, he’s a talented guy.”
