Alistair Overeem Reveals Which UFC Fighter Hit Him The Hardest

Former UFC heavyweight title challenger Alistair Overeem has put on some wars inside the cage over the years. A former K-1 Grand Prix champion, the talented striker has gone against some of the toughest and most talented competitors around.

With that in mind, Overeem has also suffered some brutal knockout losses in his career. Most recently, the fighter suffered a highlight reel first round knockout defeat to rising star Francis Ngannou.

The two faced off back at UFC 218, with Ngannou putting on a stunning performance against the fighter. Speaking on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, Alistair Overeem revealed that he believes being knocked out by Ngannou may have been the hardest punch he has ever suffered.

MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani first asked Overeem on the show, “Have you ever been hit that hard before?”

“Maybe not.” Overeem responded. “This was the beginning of the fight, fresh energy, full power, running into a punch… so maybe not.”

Overeem is now set to face off against Curtis Blaydes at UFC 225. The event will take place June 9 inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
