Former K-1 Grand Prix champion Alistair Overeem is currently gearing up for his next big octagon performance. After the news of the fighter’s match up being removed from the UFC 225 main card, Overeem has come forward with his thoughts.
Overeem is currently set to face off against Curtis Blaydes on the highly anticipated fight card of UFC 225. The event takes place June 9 inside the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.
During the UFC Fight Night 129 broadcast on Saturday, May 19, the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) announced that Overeem vs. Blaydes would no longer be taking place on the main card of UFC 225. Rather, the fight will now be on the preliminary card and Holly Holm vs. Megan Anderson will be moved up to the live pay-per-view main card.
Taking to Twitter, Alistair Overeem has decided to voice his thoughts on the matter. Check it out below:
“For the record I have no problem with the decision because now people in Europe don’t have to stay up late and the sooner the better.”
