Conor McGregor made headlines when he allegedly caused a fracas in Brooklyn, New York that left multiple people injured. It would appear that the former two-division UFC champion may potentially be facing a hefty sentence if found guilty of his criminal charges.
“Notorious” was seemingly looking to retaliate after SBG Ireland teammate Artem Lobov was confronted by UFC lightweight Khabib Nurmagomedov in a hotel ahead of UFC 223. So, the fighter decided to lead a large entourage backstage of the Barclays Center days later.
Nurmagomedov was in a bus alongside many other red corner fighters for UFC 223 at the time. The large group then allegedly attacked the bus, causing multiple people to suffer injuries.
An estimated $8,000 in damages was caused to the bus, The Mac Life had their media credentials revoked after allegedly using their backstage access to sneak the large entourage into the center and a total three UFC fighters were removed from UFC 223’s fight card.
Conor McGregor is now facing misdemeanor charges for assault and felon charges for criminal mischief. TMZ Sports has now come forward to report that “Notorious” may be facing up to seven years in prison, if found guilty of the criminal charges.
Having made is $50,000 bail, Conor McGregor is due back in court June 14.
