On Tuesday, ESPN reported that the UFC and Nate Diaz are presently in negotiations for the UFC star’s return to the fight game.
The report even revealed that the two parties have been circling around UFC 227, set to go down on August 4.
And while ESPN is usually a valid and credible source for all things UFC related, it appears as if they may have gotten this one wrong.
That’s because, in a new statement from Dana White, made to Yahoo Sports!, the UFC boss refutes that anything is near finalization. In fact, he states that this recent rumor is nothing new, as the UFC has been offering Nate Diaz fights for the past two years.
Yahoo Sports’ Kevin Iole has the statement from White.

Also, @danawhite didn’t seem to think much of the news about UFC negotiating a fight with Nate Diaz. “We offer him a fight every 3 or 4 months and have ever since his last fight. Nothing is going on.”

Nate Diaz hasn’t fought since his UFC 202 loss to Conor McGregor back in 2016.
