Fight fans flooded into the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England on Sunday, May 27, for the latest fight card from the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Following the day’s controversial main event, UFC President Dana White has decided to come forward with his thoughts on the matter.
The highly anticipated fight card of UFC Fight Night 130 went down inside the Echo Arena, featuring a welterweight war in the day’s headliner. Undefeated fighter Darren Till headlined the card in his hometown in a battle against No. 1 ranked two-time former title challenger Stephen Thompson.
The fight ultimately went the distance, with Till earning a unanimous decision victory over “Wonderboy” following a razor close, five round kickboxing brawl. Following the fighter’s 48-47, 49-46 and 49-46 scorecard victory, some fight fans and fellow fighters have begun voicing concerns that Thompson may have allegedly won the fight.
Speaking to media after the fight, UFC President Dana White offered his thoughts on the matter. The UFC head said, “When you have rounds that are so close, you lose track of who’s scoring. It was a tough fight to score.”
