It would appear that Bellator 198 did not smash in the ratings as some fight fans may have expected, given that mixed martial arts legend Fedor Emelianenko headlined the night’s event.
Mixed martial arts promotion Bellator MMA was in Rosemont, Illinois on Saturday, April 28, to host the highly anticipated fight card of Bellator 198. Featured in the night’s main event, Fedore Emelianenko went toe-to-toe with two-time former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir.
Emelianenko made short work of his opponent, ultimately earning a first round knockout victor over the former title holder. Now the ratings report from the Bellator MMA’s latest fight card has arrived. This time around, the promotion hit a higher note than the most recent events, but still failed to draw a massive audience.
As reported by MMA’s Jason Floyd, Bellator 198 hit 581, 000 viewership on Paramount network and another 169, 000 on the CMT channel. Comparatively, Bellator 197 hit 242,000 on Paramount and 161,000 on CMT.
Bellator 196, however, drew in a total 420,000 views.
