Following Latest Knockout Loss, Ian McCall Officially Retires From Fighting

The world of mixed martial arts has seen one of its top flyweights compete for the last time. Former UFC flyweight title challenger Ian McCall has called an end to his career.

McCall put on an intense rivalry with reigning UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson back in his days as an octagon competitor. The fighter reached a majority draw against “Mighty Mouse,” before suffering a unanimous decision loss in their rematch.

McCall has been on a losing streak as of late, having suffered a defeat in his final three bouts. Most recently, McCall was dealt a first round knockout loss to Kyoji Horiguchi under the Rizin promotion.

Appearing on the latest edition of The MMA Hour, McCall revealed that he is now retired from the sport of mixed martial arts. The fighter finished his career with a record of 13-7 and one draw.
